Karma means action in Sanskrit, the ancient language used by Hindus for rituals and writing their holy texts. However, religion has added a deeper meaning to karma.
The concept also talks about the consequences a specific action may have. Many have come to think of karma as something of a punishment.
But actually, even if we look at the expanded meaning of karma, we will see that it is not a punishment. Rather, karma is like a life lesson which is offered through direct experience.
Karma In Spirituality
When we are talking about karma in our spiritual side, then it refers to the fruits that we have grown on the basis of our actions in this lifetime as well as the collection of experiences from our past lives.
Due to the existence of our past lives, all of us have at least one kind of karmic consequence held within us. This carried over karma is exactly why there is a need for reincarnation – we are born again to grow wiser, learn and solve what we failed to do in the previous life.
Karmic Diseases
Karmic diseases are certain effects taking place in our body that is on the emotional, physical, and mental side due to the presence of past life consequences. Let’s think about it from the perspective of normal illnesses.
When we are ill, it is because of some virus or other external factors. Now, from a karmic perspective, the illness is generally internal and can occur on a subconscious level. Let’s say that you were poor in your previous life. Due to the carrying over of your karma, even if you are rich now, you will be a bit miserly.
This is because you are aware that any misstep can bring you and your family down to a state that you had once been in – in the past. While these kinds of effect may not be bad for you, karmic diseases can be both positive and negative.
Negative Karmic Diseases
If you have had negative experiences in the past, then you will end up collecting a lot of negative karma. This can be bad for you as it will end up becoming an obstacle in your spiritual evolution and you will fail to bask in the divine light and help.
Generally, negative karma adds up when you have had negative interactions with certain people in the past. The human factor is important when negative karma is concerned. For example, if you have carried an excessive burden of guilt from your past life, then you will end up apologizing all the time and crying for no reason. T
hat’s because the guilt has become a part of your subconscious. Similarly, if you had been victims of fraud or abuse in the past, then you are probably quite an expert at hiding your feelings. This results in depression and panic attacks and can even take a bad turn into tumors and cancers.
Karmic Diseases That Are Involuntary
Sometimes, there are certain karmic diseases which affect us due to our passivity in our past actions. When something like this takes place, our body ends up hurting itself. These are certain things that can happen due to accidents or trauma in the past.
Passive observations can result in myopia in our later lives. If we had seen some kind evil happening and did not act against it, then myopia can occur.
This is because when we see something happening and yet do not act, our eye ends up collecting a lot of negative vibrations. This is the karma of injustice which stays with you even in your next life.
Karmic illnesses can affect you at any stage of life and might affect you negatively. However, it can also be a result of bad habits or lifestyle choices.
So, if you suspect that you have a Karmic illness, it is best to get spiritual counseling before going forward with your assumption. Best of luck.
